# Invite & manage members

> Invite people to your organization by email, assign their role, and remove them when they leave.

Owners and admins add people to an organization from the **Team** page. Invitations go out by email and
are tied to the exact address you invite.

## Invite someone

<Steps>
  <Step title="Send an invite">
    On the **Team** page, enter the person's email and choose their
    [role](/help/organizations/roles-and-permissions). You can only invite someone at a role **at or
    below your own** — an admin can invite admins and members, but not owners.
  </Step>

  <Step title="They accept">
    They get an email with an invite link. The link is **single-use** and expires after **7 days**.
    To accept, they sign in as the **exact email** you invited — an invite for one address can't be
    accepted by another. New to webhook.co? Signing in creates their account, then lands them on the
    invitation.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  An invite grants the role it was created with. If you need to change someone's role, do it from
  the **Team** page after they've joined — see [roles &
  permissions](/help/organizations/roles-and-permissions).
</Note>

## Manage members

From the **Team** page, owners and admins can change a member's role or remove them. A few guardrails
keep an organization safe:

* The **last owner** can't be removed or demoted — an organization always has at least one owner.
* You can only grant or change a role **up to your own** — admins can't create owners.
